At Just Like Family we do everything we can to get services started as quickly as possible after care has been requested, with the potential to start services with as little as 24 hours notice. However, we always encourage anyone who believes that home health care may be in their future to develop a relationship with the company in advance. This gives you time to review the company’s policies and procedures, and ask any questions you may have in regards to services. Equally important, it allows the company time to get to know you and better understand your situation.
It is not uncommon for Just Like Family to get calls requesting care to start immediately due to a medical emergency arising. In these cases, the family and the client are often dealing with the medical emergency and would prefer not to be bothered with reviewing our contract or answering the questions required to perform an accurate assessment of the situation. It is because of this that we encourage anyone considering home health care to call and request information as soon as possible.
When requesting information, you are not committing to use our services, but rather just preparing yourself to make an informed decision when you see the need. If you believe home health care services may be necessary in the near future, you may want to request a FREE in-home assessment during which a Just Like Family representative will come to your home, assist you in evaluating your needs, review all necessary paperwork, and answer any questions you may have.
If you decide that Just Like Family is right for you, then we recommend returning a signed contract and requesting that your information and assessment remain on file. This allows us to be prepared when you do call requesting services in the future. You may also want to request a few short shifts to allow yourself time to adjust to the idea of having someone come to your home before additional care is required.
