JLF is taking very good care of our elderly 94 year old father who also is a veteran. The communication is excellent and they have been very accommodating. We would highly recommend JLF!

We liked The professionalism and passion of the caregivers who helped to care for my mother.

My dad went on hospice in November and overnight became unmanageable (dementia). I had booked with this company to start the following week but my Wellspan Social worker, Lisa, worked her magic to get me immediate relief. I know beggars can’t be choosers but the first two caregivers they sent were useless. The first was physically unable to walk my dad around and told me if he fell she wouldn’t be able to get him up. She needed to sit while he was standing playing with his knickknacks. I had to be there anyway even though I paid for someone to take over. The second woman was unfamiliar with hospice and the dying process. She kept trying to make my dad sit up even though his awkward position was comfortable for him. She showed me pictures of back braces I should get him. I was awake for over 30 hours at this point and had to tell her he was dying and explained the entire process to her. She started crying and told me she doesn’t want to die this way. Now I’m comforting her and caring for my dad. What am I paying for again? I did call and let them know I was unhappy with the two women that were sent and to never send them again.

Then walked in Danny. I immediately grilled him on his hospice knowledge. He was fully qualified and I could go to bed. Danny was spectacular. Danny ended up being the last person to be with my dad several days later. That night he brought him a “guardian” stuffed dinosaur. He woke me up to tell me my dad passed and stayed with me until hospice came. He is a beautiful soul and I will be forever grateful to him.

Another shout out is to Mike. Mike was a breath of fresh air. He was funny and incredibly knowledgeable about this kind of work. My dad was bed bound by the time we got Mike. He ensured my dad had water, was changed, and repositioned. Also to Bertha. She was with us overnight and I only had 10 minutes with her since I was sleeping but she was the warmest person I ever met. Ask for Danny, Mike, or Bertha, she gives the best hugs.

My big advice is if you use this company, have clear, precise directions you want followed. Set expectations and don’t back down. An already stressful situation should not be made more stressful, especially when you’re paying for it. Their employees are not all trained in everything. Some are more about housework and others are medical professionals. Go in being clear with what you want and hopefully you’ll get a Danny, Mike or Bertha.

Just Like Family was a huge help when it came to caring for my grandpa. The communication was open and the caregivers did everything we needed them to do.

JLF is providing excellent in home care for my Dad & Mom.

JLF is amazing. they took amazing care of my great grandpa before he passed. i would definitely recommend them to anybody ! Melinda went above and beyond with the endless support and care for my family.

They have done a great job since day one. On very short notice they are able to help us with getting in home care for our loved one setup. We started with 8 hours in home care per day and recently expanded to 16 hours per day. When we have changes due to doctor appointments they work with their team of care givers to shift the schedule. If someone is not able to make it in, they respond immediately to fill the gap. 90% of the caregivers do great job. If we have any concerns, they are always there to help. Most importantly is that everyone is very caring and kind.

Just Like Family is truly “just like family”. We have utilized JLF to provide services for my father since June 2023 when he moved home after a stay at an assisted living facility following a medical emergency. He just needs some extra help a couple of times per week. The caregivers who have been assigned to him are truly wonderful. They are extremely caring and treat him with the utmost of respect. If a medical issue occurs, they inform me immediately and follow up to make sure that he is well. They care for him like a member of their own family.. I feel completely at ease knowing that he is getting the best of care.

JLF aides took care of my dad for a little over a year. While we would recommend JLF and our overall experience was very good, my review is specifically about Ashley. My dad was gruff and didn't like the idea of someone coming into his home to take care of him. Ashley was patient and earned my dad's trust, and he became fond of her. Dad was actually happy when it was Ashley's day to provide care. She went above and beyond her duties, recommending ways we could help make Dad feel more secure in his home and letting us know about problems she noticed. This was so important since Dad had no family close by. She told me her standard was to do for our dad what she would do for her mom. She was a wonderful blessing to my dad and our whole family.

The care Ashley Smith gave my mother was exceptional.
And she became like family to all of us.

Just Like Family’s services was a life saver for my mother-in-law. With her getting up there in age and very unsteady on her feet, Just Like Family’s team was there for her. Getting dressed, bathing, and using the bathroom were things she needed help with and Just Like Family provided, punctual, reliable assistance. I would recommend them to anyone in the Central PA area.

Having Just Like Family involved with caring for our mother has enabled us to have her stay in her home. Staff has been kind and easy to work with guidance on how to accommodate my mother's needs.

I had surgery on my right shoulder. I'm right handed. I needed help with everything. The caregivers have been wonderful. I like that I'm not restricted to my house and that one of the duties of the caregivers allows them to drive me to do errands.

I recently had an accident & broke my L wrist & am Left Handed. Needed help with navigating in my home & learning how to navigate without wrist working.. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
